Bright prospects

More and more house roofs are being fitted with solar panels - we transport the sensitive cargo for LichtBlick.

Our Rieck team in Hamburg has been working for LichtBlick, Germany's largest pure green electricity provider, for around a year now. The company now also offers a complete solar package for private customers: Solar system with storage and wallbox from a single source.

"LichtBlick places the highest demands on the quality of the hardware and wants the products to reach customers reliably and flawlessly. As an expert in contract logistics and fulfillment, Rieck is the right partner for this."
Sandra Hulwa, Supply Chain Specialist at LichtBlick

"A dedicated and solution-oriented team with in-depth industry knowledge provides support for all logistical challenges. Rieck is characterized by diligence, punctuality and reliability. We look forward to continuing our partnership and appreciative cooperation," says Sandra Hulwa, Supply Chain Specialist at LichtBlick, about the collaboration with Rieck.

When new LichtBlick goods arrive or are picked in our Hamburg warehouse at Rieck Projekt Kontrakt Logistik, maximum concentration is required: "The solar modules are large, not very light and of course delicate," explains Emilie Setzke, Business Development & Sales. "We have drawn up precise packing instructions and now also use a suction lifter because it is difficult even for two people to lift the modules safely from the pallet."

After the individual packaging of the solar module, the accessories are picked onto a second pallet for each end recipient: From around 40 stored items, up to 15 different parts belong to one order. Finally, we deliver both pallets directly to the LichtBlick installation teams throughout Germany, who install the system at the homes of private individuals. Good planning is also required here: most companies can only be supplied on fridays.

One solar module requires 0.95 loading meters on the truck - because the pallets are not stackable.

LichtBlick for the climate

What started just under a year ago with a few consignments per month has now reached a volume of several orders per day. Even in the darker months of the year, there is no slump in the number of shipments. "The growth is very dynamic, there's no other way to describe it," explains Emilie Setzke. "That is also one of the major challenges: being able to adapt flexibly to the required capacities." We now provide LichtBlick with 1,000 square meters of storage and preparation space in Hamburg.

"We are proud to work for LichtBlick at the site and to be able to make a contribution to more climate protection."
Emilie Setzke

And the signs are pointing to further growth: LichtBlick is expanding its range to include heat pumps and the Rieck team in Hamburg will also manage the central warehouse here, picking and shipping the products. Up to 20 more items will then be added - and we look forward to getting even more climate-friendly products on their way.
