The Rieck Logistics Group is expanding its presence in China: On September 1, a sales office was opened in Kunshan, around 60 kilometers west of Shanghai.
The city of Kunshan is part of the Suzhou administrative region in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu. With over two million inhabitants, it is one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing cities in China. Well-known German and international companies have their headquarters here or in Suzhou.
Three plus three
At Rieck's Kunshan office, three employees are currently working on challenging customer projects under the leadership of Station Manager Jason Wu: They advise on all questions relating to the transport process, organize loading equipment and book loading capacities. A further three employees will complete the team by the end of the year. "By opening this office, we have set the course for serving our customers in Jiangsu province even better and further strengthening our market position in this region," says Shiye Zhou, Board Director China at Rieck.
Opening date a good omen
Rieck chose September 1 as the opening date for good reason: On this day, six-year-old children traditionally start school in China, older pupils look forward to the new start in the higher grades, and students begin the new semester. It is therefore a day full of hope and success - a good omen for the launch of the new Rieck office.
Due to the coronavirus, the opening ceremony could only take place in a small circle: Some customers as well as Rieck colleagues from Shanghai took part in the celebration. Philipp Strenge, Managing Partner of the Rieck Logistics Group, and Shiye Zhou were connected online from Germany. In his message, Philipp Strenge warmly congratulated the opening ceremony of the new office. "My sincere thanks go to Shiye Zhou and Jecy Shen, General Manager China, for their great commitment and outstanding work," said Philipp Strenge.
