An important IT project at Systemspedition is on the home straight: From November, Rieck will be expanding the use of the "cadis" transport management system to include additional modules. Until now, Rieck Systemspedition (RSS) has used the software solution for scheduling pick-up transports and for monitoring purposes in local transport.
In future, Rieck will also control the processes in the handling hall with the new "cadis" version R4. "This will enable us to further optimize the hall handling," explains Christian Oberländer, Tender and Project Manager at Rieck. "The new software supports many additional functions - making us much more digital in the hall."
Lots of features
In addition to mobile scanning and photo documentation during loading and unloading, the new handling software also enables faster storage location determination and shipment prioritization as well as systematic stocktaking. "Overall, this raises our warehouse processes to a new technical level," Christian Oberländer is convinced.
The IT project launched in summer 2020 is now nearing a successful conclusion. "The final tests were carried out in September, and we held intensive training sessions for the teams in October," says Christian Oberländer. And if everything continues to go according to plan, the new software solution will go live in November.
