One thing is clear: logistics come before disposal! After all, the various disposal containers - from glass boxes and barrels to 3-cubic meter lattice boxes - must first be brought to workshops, for example. What normally happens gradually, happens ad hoc when there is a change of service provider - but usually after a long planning period.
"As the necessary capacity was lacking in an area that we don't normally serve, we were asked by our system partner RLG Systems AG whether we could step in at short notice to deliver a large container," explains Nadine Möller, Head of Logistics and Forwarding in Neuss. "Of course, we accepted immediately."
The challenge was not only the short notice, but also the complexity of the project: one to 20 (different sized) containers were sent to the various destinations - a maximum of 17 fitted on one tour. There was a prioritization of the required containers, subsequent change requests, additional delivery points at short notice and, in addition, often time specifications as to when there would be space on site to pick up individual containers. "It was therefore not only a question of combining the routes sensibly, but also of loading the trucks as space-savingly as possible and always remaining sufficiently flexible," says Nadine Möller.
Up to seven 12-ton trucks with lifting platforms were used for the deliveries every day, a total of 370 transports were carried out - and all challenges were mastered. The project went so smoothly that our system partner has already commissioned us for further deliveries in the Berlin / Brandenburg area. We are delighted with the confirmation of our work - and that we can now also play container Tetris in Berlin.
