'One Bag. One Child' - this formula sums up the commitment of Buckle & Seam. The leather goods manufacturer produces bags, belts and other accessories in Pakistan and supports the local people in two ways: firstly, Buckle & Seam attaches great importance to fair wages and safe working conditions. Secondly, the company donates three percent of every item sold to four schools in Karachi, thereby supporting the education of over 700 children. "Since we lived there for a year, concrete help for the local people has been very important to us," says Georg Wolff, founder of Buckle & Seam. "And a good education is the key to a secure livelihood in everyday life. Especially when you realize that not even every second woman can read or even write her own name."
Complete fulfillment solution
Buckle & Seam relies on solutions from Berlin-based Rieck Fulfillment Solutions (RFS) to further boost sales of its high-quality leather goods: since June 2021, RFS has been handling returns processing in addition to picking and packing. "Buckle & Seam has around 500 different items in its range," says RFS Managing Director Patrick von Oy. "The goods are delivered to us directly from Pakistan."
Personal touch
RFS prepares orders from the online store for dispatch and offers a very special service on request: customers can have their name or initials engraved on the leather goods they order.
"We purchased an engraving laser for this purpose and trained our employees," says Patrick von Oy. "This service is also interesting for other customers, because even materials such as porcelain or acrylic can be lasered and thus refined."
