High up in the north, in Kavelstorf near Rostock, is the home of HOMTRANS. The Rieck subsidiary's forwarding facility is now one of the largest and most modern logistics terminals in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. "The successful development of HOMTRANS is largely thanks to the great commitment of the entire team of 170 employees," says branch manager Andreas Engelke. "As part of the Rieck Logistics Group, we also benefit from the exchange of experience and synergies with other locations as well as the financial strength of the entire group.
A competent management team has been in place at HOMTRANS since 2018. In addition to the managers in charge of non-operational departments such as administration, controlling and project management, there is a seven-person management team for the other departments. Six of them have been working for the company for many years. The 'new girl' on board is Stephanie Dittberner, who has been with HOMTRANS since 2019. "This view from the outside is sometimes very helpful - it brings a breath of fresh air," says Andreas Engelke.
The management team includes:
- Andreas Engelke, Branch Manager
- Frederick Polomski, Forwarding Manager
- Stefan Loschinski, Head of Groupage & Training
- Ronny Zellhorn, Sales Manager
- Frank Bittner, Head of Local Transport & Groupage Incoming Goods
- Carsten Strohecker, Head of the International Department
- Stephanie Dittberner, Head of Contract Logistics
Trusting cooperation
The Seven maintain an honest and respectful relationship. In daily team meetings - traditionally and somewhat jokingly referred to internally as 'Dienstberatung' - they discuss current topics. Once a quarter, the 'Prokuristen-Runde' takes a strategic look at figures, projects or personnel.
For Andreas Engelke, the special team spirit contributes significantly to the success of HOMTRANS. "Overcoming ups and downs together, communicating as equals and having fun at work - that's how we've always achieved our goals. I personally hope that we will continue to work together in this constellation for a very long time."
Logistics from the north
To achieve this, the management team consistently focuses on modern employee management, efficiency, digitalization and the continuous optimization of the organization. "Customers appreciate our quality, reliability and precise adherence to specifications," says Andreas Engelke.
"That's why we are also increasingly taking part in tenders from major customers. After all, we want to continue to grow and continuously expand our position as one of the leading logistics service providers in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern."
