With the idea that sport and exercise can create connections between locations and generations, we founded the virtual Rieck Sports Club for our employees via the Strava 2021 platform as part of the Fit For Future change process. "An uncomplicated and smart solution for us," explains Susanne Polten, Assistant to the Executive Board. "Everyone can do the sport that suits them and track their results. The community offers exchange, support and motivation - whether analog or digital." The special highlight: the number of hours of sport is converted into euros and donated to a good cause.
The concept is convincing: the number of employees who have registered in our club via the portal has almost doubled within a year. Whether cycling, jogging, Crossfit, weight training, swimming or walking - the prospect of implementing your own fitness resolutions and doing good in the process is motivating.
On your own profile, you can display the routes you have tracked, upload pictures, take part in challenges and collect trophies. You can follow other profiles. This all leads to a nice side effect of the sports club: everyone comes into contact with colleagues with whom they otherwise have nothing to do. This strengthens the Rieck team spirit even more.
Sports hours as a donation
Rieck donates the hours spent on sports - for example, one annual achievement went to the Henry Maske Foundation's charity campaign "A place for kids". In the new round, Rieck has come up with something more personal: All employees were able to name social projects to be considered.
And a few more highlights are planned this year: We will be taking part in several bike tours and various company runs together. This will provide additional motivation - for the team and for the donation fund!
