Community strengthens

Team building and communication are important pillars of the Fit For Future project - implemented at our summer events.

The Rieck Group is getting fit for the future. Of course, this also requires a strong team - with happy employees and stronger communication. We were therefore very pleased that we were finally able to celebrate together again this year: The employees from the Großbeeren and Berlin-Schönefeld sites were out and about on the Havel; the colleagues from the air and sea freight division went through a tricky course near Hamburg.

"We know that: All challenges can only be mastered together. This makes it all the more important to simply get together in an informal setting."
Frank Rottmann-Simon, Managing Director of Rieck Sea Air Cargo International (RSACI)

Cast off on the Havel

Around 150 employees from the Großbeeren and Berlin-Schönefeld sites boarded the MS Rieck at the end of June. During a five-hour cruise on the Havel, the capital city crew celebrated the highlights of the past two years: 20 years of Rieck in Großbeeren, numerous employee anniversaries - a total of over 1,500 years of service were celebrated for 2021 and 2022 -, progress and successes at Fit For Future and the soon to be completed new building in Oberkrämer, which will make Rieck the largest general cargo forwarder in Berlin. Managing Partner and "captain of the evening" Philipp Strenge thanked his crew on behalf of the Rieck shareholders: "I am incredibly proud of the strong cohesion in our team and of everything we have achieved together - especially in challenging times."

Stronger together

Around 40 employees from our air and sea freight division met 300 kilometers away near Hamburg on Saturday morning. The colleagues, who had traveled from seven locations, made their way to Gut Basthorst. In mixed teams, they took on challenges such as archery, estimation tasks, slaloming on a quad bike or moving wooden blocks together with ropes. Not only did they have fun, they also had to demonstrate various skills: Aiming at targets, demonstrating acumen or showing team skills. The most important insight of the day: only when everyone pulls together can any task be successfully accomplished. "Despite the home office phases, we have moved closer together in recent years," says Frank Rottmann-Simon, Managing Director at Rieck Sea Air Cargo International. "And shared experiences like this are simply the icing on the cake for teams."

Under the name FIT FOR FUTURE!, Rieck has initiated an internal change process with extensive measures such as workshops and training or service and health offers.
As many as 95 specialists and managers have been or are currently being trained in leadership, corporate culture and change management.
Improving the work-life balance through offers such as mobile working and our virtual sports club. Rieck also converts individual training sessions into donations for good causes.
The Jobrad campaign is inspiring: five percent of all employees already use the subsidized bike for their commute.
Surprises are always good: this year, Santa Claus brought all employees a sturdy, rainproof LorryBag and everything they need to know about the company ...
... and the Easter bunny presents all employees with a Rieck vest.
