In January, Sascha Laßau joined the management of Rieck Systemspedition with Detlef Helsing, Michael Gruner and Christian Stuhr. Since June, he has taken over from Detlef Helsing, who is retiring at the end of the year.
How was the start at Rieck?
I was given a very warm welcome! It was made very easy for me to familiarize myself with the new environment and tasks. The first 100 days gave me the opportunity to get a very good overview of the company, the employees and the projects that drive and move us. And now I'm looking forward to getting personally involved and helping out.
Which projects have priority?
Two topics are currently a really high priority for me: one is our new location in Oberkrämer, where the focus is on stabilizing and optimizing processes. The other is also a project close to my heart: Fit For Future. Fit For Future is ultimately everything that has to do with our employees - leadership, feedback, satisfaction.
What do you value most about your work?
I really appreciate the collaboration with colleagues, our customers and partners, and of course the creative freedom that comes with my role. But also taking responsibility and making decisions at the end of the day - ideally the right decisions.
What are Rieck's strengths?
One of Rieck's strengths is that the company is very broadly positioned: in terms of its product portfolio, but also on the customer side. Added to this is the shareholders' willingness to invest and the extreme strength of Rieck Systemspedition's bread and butter business. Plus many employees who have been with the company for a very long time and have a lot of experience.
What are your next goals?
Firstly, the development of new business areas for Rieck Systemspedition and then the transformation process of IT, the digitalization. These are two goals that I am pursuing and supporting with vigor.
And finally: What positively surprised you?
I was very positively surprised by the high number of employees who have been with the company for a very, very long time. I think, at the end of the day, that speaks for Rieck, doesn't it?
