Elected to the VHSp board

The Hamburg Freight Forwarders Association (VHSp) has appointed Rieck Managing Director Oliver-Karsten Thormählen as head of the Seaport Forwarding Committee.

Rieck Managing Director Oliver-Karsten Thormählen has been appointed by the Hamburg Freight Forwarders Association (VHSp) as the new Chairman of the Seaport Freight Forwarding Committee on the twelve-member board. The 54-year-old sea and air freight expert founded Rieck Sea Air Cargo International (RSACI) for the Rieck Logistics Group and is known in the industry as a competent expert. "Overseas forwarding has always been my passion," says Oliver-Karsten Thormählen. "That's why I'm delighted that I can now contribute my experience to the work of the Board."

Expert knowledge in demand

As Chairman of the Seaport Freight Forwarding Committee, Oliver-Karsten Thormählen heads the committee, in which 16 proven experts from Hamburg's seaport freight forwarders work together. They are committed, for example, to further improving the infrastructure in the Port of Hamburg or optimizing the conditions for smooth import and export processes.

The Hamburg Freight Forwarders Association represents the interests of freight forwarding companies in the Hanseatic city and provides weekly information on new regulations in the port, changes in transport and insurance law or current customs regulations. At the same time, the association supports representatives from business and politics in shaping suitable framework conditions.

The Seaport Forwarding Committee is committed to improving the infrastructure in the port.
